Luis Suarez is keen for Barcelona to sign Glen Johnson from Stoke City.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Uruguayan striker is backing the club's pursuit of his old Liverpool teammate.
It is understood that Barca boss Luis Enrique is unhappy with Aleix Vidal and has attempted to turn midfielder Sergi Roberto into a right-back, but could now turn his attention elsewhere in the January transfer window.
Potters full-back Johnson is one name being linked with a possible winter move to the Nou Camp and it is believed that Suarez would welcome the arrival of the 32-year-old England international.
In his autobiography, Suarez said of Johnson: “He impressed me hugely.
“He has a combination of physical strength, power and intelligence and technically he's so good that despite being right footed he shoots better off of his left foot.”
